Coping With Anxiety Understanding The Responses Of Your Body To Anxiety Stimulants

Coping with anxiety is something that most of us have to do everyday. Hundreds of people all over the world have to deal with different types of anxiety stimulants. Although some people only have mild responses to different forms of stress, others have some really negative responses to stressful situations that they often have anxiety attacks.

Coping with anxiety is not really difficult if you know how your body responds to stress. Note that when dealing with stressful situations, our bodies go through three different stages. The first stage that our body goes through in coping with anxiety is the fight or flight stage. When you feel threatened, you mind send danger signals to the other parts of your body.

The adrenalin rush through your blood and you feel some tremendous energy in your body as your body prepares to run or to fight. When the stressful situation continues beyond the flight or fight stage, your mind registers resistance. This means that you mind sends another batch of messages to the different parts of your body. As a result of these messages sent by the brain to the different part of your body, your body with release several hormones to help it in coping with anxiety.

Once the stressful situation is over, your body will now enter into the third phase which is exhaustion. Now, you should not be alarmed if you feel exhausted. Exhaustion is a sign that you body needs to replenish the energies it used up in coping with anxiety. If you feel tired, rest for a while.

Getting Some Time Off

It is advisable to take some time off after a very stressful situation. According to experts, coping with anxiety could take a toll on your body thus it is important that your body is given ample time to recuperate. Always remember that your body has just gone through some difficult situations and it now very vulnerable to other type of stress. Do not subject yourself to another type of stress at this point because your body may not have enough energy to cope with anxiety.

Depending on the situation that you have just gone through, it would be wise to take a day or two off to help you relax. If you cannot afford to take the day off, at least go somewhere to cool off. A walk outside and breath of fresh air would do you a lot of good.
